National Economics State of the Regions Economic Indicators

How do we compare?

Free economics comparisons of local government areas.

Have you ever needed to know;

  • how particular areas compared to other areas?
  • which had the largest gross regional product?
  • which were the most productive?
  • how many local jobs they generated?

Well now you can.

The State of the Regions Economic Indicators Series is a set of key economic measures for every Local Government Area (LGA) in Australia. The series is drawn from National Economics (NIEIR) modeling and other relevant data sources and is updated annually.  The indicators provide a snapshot of each local economy at a point in time, showing how it contributes to the broader State economy and how it is performing in relation to other areas.
